Health Care is Not Socialism
We are at a crossroad in our nation. The bullies and the ignorant are determined to prevent discourse. Dissent is appropriate. Disagreement is expected in a society praising and supporting free speech. Unfortunately we are not facing a true debate or discussion about health care.
Raising the American flag and praising the troops does not make someone patriotic. It's just a lazy, trite way to act patriotic. True patriotism is embracing disagreement, but respectful disagreement. Health care is not a socialist, fascist concept that is destroying the tenets of our constitution.
Instead of encouraging rational disagreement, people and groups are being encouraged to disrupt. Many Repulbicans are cautiously using words to indicate that Republican operatives, front organizations or supporters are not behind this mob mentality. If we do not get control of our national dialogue then we will lose our national soul. A soul that celebrates our diversity, a soul that lives to integrate our differences, a soul that believes in liberty and justice for all. That means all.
If you get your "facts" from Michael Steele, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Shaun Hannity, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sarah Palin or any of the Fox New pundits then you don't have facts. Many Republican Congressman and Senators are NOT stating facts. Our Consitution was written to provide rights to an informated citizenry -do you meet that qualification, or are you just listening to the 60 second sound bites of lies. Don't tell me you listen to these propagandists for entertainment - deceivers and liars are not entertaining. You are being brainwashed.
