The Light and the Shadow
We live in a world of opposites. The Chinese use the concept of Yin and Yang to demonstrate that polarity is a constant in the world. We have North and South, East and West, Right and Left, Up and Down, Good and Evil, Male and Female.
In some cases we've determined the polarities are absolutes instead of complementary sides of an energy. Carl Jung taught that within each of us there is a side of light and a side of shadow.
In the last eight years the shadow side has ruled. But shadow can not exist without light. Shadow allows us to see the light. This is the time when all of us must hold our light and be grateful for our shadow.
One of the greatest shadows in our U.S. lives at present is the campaign of John McCain and Sarah Palin.
